A short loop to the nearest dunes and a viewpoint. It's the right call only if you're tight on time — combining Wadi Rum with Petra the same day, say. You'll get the feel of the red sand but miss the canyons and the further bridges.
The half-day (3–4 hours)
The popular choice and the best value for most visitors: a spring, Khazali Canyon's carvings, the big red dunes and a rock bridge. If your half-day can end at sunset, take that version — the light is the point.
The full day and the overnight
A full day (7–9 hours) adds the further rock bridges, quieter dunes and lunch in the desert. If the silence and the stars appeal, an overnight camp — Bedouin tent or bubble dome — turns the tour into the highlight of a Jordan trip.
